Superintendent Student Advisory
To ensure the D.C. Everest District has the opportunity to consider student perspectives when making decisions, DCE launched the Superintendent's Student Advisory (SSA) composed of students willing to respectfully discuss issues that impact the district.
The advisory is composed of 12 students from grades 9 - 12 who represent diverse backgrounds and interests. SSA members will be charged with seeking input from their peers concerning a wide range of topics and for sharing those perspectives — not simply their own — with the advisory. Members also will be tasked with creating a project to improve their school/school culture, a plan to accomplish that goal and to showcase their progress/results at the SSA Showcase. This task can be completed independently or collaboratively with other members.
Nominate a Student for the SSA!
In order for this advisory group to be effective and successfully represent the wide variety of student voices in our district, it is important the members are diverse — pursuing different career and educational paths, and representing a wide range of interests. That’s where you come in. We welcome DCE staff and community members to nominate students for the SSA. We recognize DCE staff and our community partners/members play an important role in the lives of our students and may be aware of students whom they feel could provide a unique perspective and contribute to the SSA.
Is there a particular student(s) who comes to mind? If so, we encourage you to submit their name as part of our SSA nomination process. Simply send the student’s name — and why you think this student would be an effective SSA member.
