Advisory Learning and Canvas Access for Families
At D.C. Everest, we are committed to helping students grow academically, socially and emotionally. Weekly advisory lessons are designed to support this growth through weekly learning modules in Canvas, our Learning Management System.
Rather than using separate links, students will access their College Career and Life Ready lessons directly in Canvas during their scheduled advisory time. Each module includes:
- Goal setting and self-reflection
- Career exploration using Xello
- Activities connected to our Portrait of a Graduate Dashboard (college visits, career field trips, college/career workshops, leadership opportunities and job, scholarship and volunteer postings) helping students track growth in communication, collaboration, critical thinking and other key skills
How Families Can Follow Along:
Parents and guardians can view their child’s College Career and Life Ready progress by logging into their Canvas observer account:
- Log in using your observer account credentials
- Select College Career and Life Ready course from the Dashboard
- Explore weekly modules, activities, and reflections
During Advisory, students also have the opportunity to consistently meet with their staff advisor to monitor grades and progress towards goals/graduation and receive support and guidance concerning their academic, career and life goals.

Advisory
Students meet weekly with a consistent staff advisor for support and guidance.
